This is the husband of Joy’s friend Tina, apparentlly a very nice fellow according to Joy’s note about the portrait.The scarf is a bit of an anomoly for Joy’s portraits but it does serve the purpose of having two strong and constrasting design elements to deliver your vision to the gentleman’s face. Personally I think the tilt of the face in the overall composition provides life, vigour, and a feeling of personal endearment.
