An undated self portrait of Joy with red hair. Her husband Don didn’t care for the colour so she never did it again. This opening piece is characteristic of many of Joy’s portraits with its soft edge brushstrokes and non-descript backgrounds allowing for an emphasis on the subject of the composition.
