Joy said “This little “pixie” boy was one of my favorite commissions to paint. I’d never seen a jacket like the one he was wearing but I thought it suited him to a T.” The thing about painting little kids is that their skin is so beautifully smooth as to defy brushwork, but Joy has overcome that obstacle and has contrasted it with a beautifully detailed jacket.
