An innocent sitter

Oil on canvas, 16 x 20 inches

An innocent sitter

The small image for this portrait has lost much of its detail but that tends to emphasize the major elements of the design. The lighting is almost angelic, befitting the innocence of the sitter. The blurring and lack of detail gives the portrait the soft-blanket-like texture suitable for the subject. The portrait head is intentionally cast against the bright light with a dark crown of hair and the darker eyes completing that circle.
