Letter of Support: Ontario Society of Artists

The Ontario Society of Artists (OSA), founded in 1872 in Toronto, is Canada's oldest continuously operating professional art society, established with the goal of fostering original art in the province, which led to its involvement in creating a provincial art school, an art museum, and the Royal Canadian Academy. Over its history the OSA has been closely tied to major Ontario cultural institutions, including the Ontario College of Art and Design University, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Government of Ontario Art Collection. Today the Society is active as a group of professional visual artists working in all media, living across every corner of Ontario, continuing to hold juried and member exhibitions, publish a newsletter, and celebrate milestones such as its 150th anniversary in 2022.
